Sports Video Distribution and Archiving
Whether you’re in sports broadcast and production, in-game stadium video or coach video, we have a solution for you. For in-game video and broadcast solutions please refer to our Broadcast & Video Distribution solutions page. If you are more involved with ‘Coach Video’ we understand your needs are very different from the average video model. Below you can learn how we’ve helped other sports video coordinators.
Rimage systems are full network appliances and can be directly connected to many of the popular sports editing platforms such as DVSport, XOS, Coach Comm, LRS, and Webb Electronics for easy export of content. The most common video formats used in sports editing systems are AVI or MXF – both compatible with Rimage. When exporting game or practice footage, all the metadata (or ‘marks’ as they are usually referred to) carry over to the archived copy. Both archived discs, or discs sent to other teams will have all the metadata intact.
If you are affiliated with the NFL, then you’ll be happy to know a Rimage system can also work with the NFL Collaborative Game Exchange (CGE) used to pull down game footage directly from the NFL’s library. You can connect to this system which also uses MXF files to quickly archive opponent's games in a digital format without having to run the footage through your sports editing station first. This same capability can be used with most game exchange systems on the market today.
In addition to storage and archiving challenges, many teams also need to distribute copies to coaching staffs, players and opposing teams. Today, most discs are created using traditional dupe towers which are a manual way of creating discs and do not offer print capability. A Rimage system allows you to submit your job, specify content, specify what should be printed on the disc and go back to more important things, letting the software and robotics do the work for you. Your Rimage system will pick the proper media type (DVD or Blu-ray Disc™), record the content, and print directly to the surface of the disc in full, permanent color. You can send out discs with your team logo and branding on the disc surface providing a better representation of your organization at a very low cost per printed disc.
